Megan Formanek

Author of the
Viking Trading Lands series

About

Megan Formanek writes historical fiction that prowls the shadowy edges of the Viking world, where traders, settlers, and ambitious schemers carved out futures far from home. She studied history at university and has been chasing the ghosts of the so-called “Dark Ages” ever since. After years abroad, she now writes from Far North Queensland, where tropical storms and dense green horizons feel surprisingly at home beside longships and restless Norse spirits. Her Viking Trading Lands series delves into the eastern reaches of the Norse world, driven by characters so vivid and complicated they often feel like unruly friends. When not writing, Megan hoards books, brews reckless amounts of coffee, and makes historical clothing and recipes with chaotic enthusiasm.
