Viking women go to Mossman, Far North Queensland- What's on in Port

Taking my event series: Women's Place in the Viking Age and How Technology is Changing our View, to Mossman is the most north it's ever been! Exploring what's on in Port Douglas and Mossman, has never been so fun (I bet the Viking women never thought they'd make it so far south).

The amazing Jeremy at Mossman Library of Douglas Shire Libraries organised this presentation, and their library was filled with enlarged pictures of not only my covers but the beautiful book covers of Octavia Randolph and Peter Gibbons. It is an absolute privilege to be considered an author with similar works.

Mossman is a rural town with a population of less than two thousand people but the turnout was strong and even better, the audience was very engaged. They asked wonderful questions and already had much knowledge regarding recent archaeology and women's place in the Viking world.

I'll certainly be back in this part of the world next year with another fascinating part of Astrid's dramatic life.

Thanks for having me Douglas Shire!
